Definitive statistics on the incidence and prevalence of Pemphigoid are not available. Pemphigoid strikes men and women equally and knows no racial or cultural boundaries. Although the onset usually occurs in the elderly (60 and older), Pemphigoid can affect young adults and has even been documented in children as young as several months old.
