For Patients

Being diagnosed with pemphigus or pemphigoid is both a relief (i.e., “At least I finally know why I am sick.”) and an awful shock (i.e., “What’s going to happen to me?”)   Your head is spinning after your first visit with your doctor and you feel like you are going to faint after you start doing your research on the Internet.  The roller coaster ride begins with no sense of when you will be able to step off this ride.

To help patients cope with the challenges that pemphigus and pemphigoid brings, we have developed a number of resources.  Please take a moment to review them. Not every resource will work for you.  Just as everyone’s experience is different, so will the recipe for coping with your illness. We encourage you to reach out and ask questions and, most of all, share your experience.
